He is coming towards me. I have known him for fifteen years now. He is dressed in traditional inmate attire. I am dressed in casual dress pants and a collared shirt. He is heading towards his cell block. I am headed home. He has many regrets about his past. So do I. He misses his family and will have to wait to see them on a visit. I miss my family and will be blessed to see them shortly. He is Hispanic. I am Italian. He has no money. I am richly blessed with money. He locks-in at night and sleeps on a bunk by himself. I lock my door at night and sleep on a warm, soft bed with a beautiful wife. When we see each other we smile. We see each other almost every day, and smile. There is a bond between us that will not be recognized. We are different, but not in the most important way. He is a Christian, saved by the atoning work of Christ on the cross. I am a Christian, saved by the atoning work of Christ on the cross. In many instances, we have shared Scripture with each other. We have helped one another to keep an eternal perspective. Both of us know that our good works are but filthy rags. He prays for me. I pray for him. We have the same heavenly Father since we were both adopted into God’s family. The same Holy Spirit that is in me, is in him. We both have been sealed for glory. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave[g] nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatian 3:27-28 Rob
