All That For Me?
I routinely play against a Chess computer. It is difficult to beat a computer because it doesn’t make mistakes. Every so often I succeed. When I say every so often, I mean it, because I just won yesterday against a level which I have been playing at for seventeen months without a victory. How did it happen? Well, without getting into the all the chess details, at the end of the game I sacrificed several pieces in order to promote a pawn into a queen. It was worth it. Once the pawn became a queen, the victory followed.

Should We Listen to The Police”?
For those of you who are around my age, you are likely familiar with a band called “The Police”. They are no longer together, and Sting, their former lead singer, has gone on to have a very successful solo career. I was listening to one of the songs from the Police the other day. It is called “Oh My God” and I considered some of the lyrics carefully. Here they are:

I’m Going To Add an Extra Hour if it Kills Me!
I am not really a “car-guy”. I know what makes up a car-guy. They love to talk about cars. They know the intricacies of what is “under the hood”. They go to car shows and ogle at all the new models, and talk about their dream cars. I like cars. When I buy one, I enjoy it. Especially if it is relatively new and looks nice. I try to keep them that way – ding free, washed, vacuumed, polished, etc. Sometimes I can’t keep up, but it is a goal of mine.

Grumblings, Mumblings, and Rumblings
Something is not right. No really, just listen. There are a lot of things wrong, and it doesn’t seem to matter who you talk to. Everyone has something to complain about.
For example:
- The food service worker – “This oven’s temperature is off.”
- The mailman – “Why do these people block their mailbox with their car.”
- The police officer – “More paperwork? Really?”

There is No End in Sight
In terms of depth below the surface, the Kola Superdeep Borehole SG-3 retains the world record at 40,230 feet as the deepest artificial point on Earth. That is almost seven miles down. It is hard to fathom any hole penetrating that deeply into the earth. It is even harder to fathom the depths of God’s Word. What tells me this? Because this week I was blessed to spend three straight days studying the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatians.

Problematic Permissions
Recently I had to buy a new cell phone. I was happy with it for a few days until I started to get advertisements popping up that were taking over my screen and forcing me to exit out of whatever application I was in. I came to learn that the ads were being sent by Google. I tried correcting the problem myself, but to no avail. This went on for a few days and during that time I was saying things like, “I can’t believe Google would do this to people” and “This makes me so frustrated” and,

Man Down
In security circles, staff are often issued radios with a “man down” feature. This feature is important because if a person is assaulted in some way, and is down on the ground, unable to respond, the radio can “sense” this and send out an alarm to those who are monitoring such transmissions. Sometimes I think it would be good if Christians had such alarms. Maybe it would go something like this:

I’m Sinning, and That is the Truth
know that the title of today’s blog just doesn’t sound right. Yet, the fact of the matter is that when we agree with God about our sin, we are proclaiming God’s truth.
Why? Because He has told all people that we are sinful. No ifs, ands or buts.
Consider these verses:

Smart Water
I just purchased some “Smart” water (yes, that is actually what it is called). I know it’s smart, because it says so on the label. But, because the advertising intrigued me, I wanted to read the label to find out why this water was so smart.
Here is what it said:

A Love Story
A recent news story detailed how a multi-millionaire is on trial for insurance fraud. Reportedly, the woman’s house caught on fire, and after the firefighters came and put out the flames, she accused them of stealing millions of dollars of jewelry. She is now on trial for insurance fraud. Isn’t that a nice love story?
