Triblessings

Hi everyone,

Had any triblessings as of late?

Umm … Rob … there is no such thing.

Well, I say there is! Look, I will show you:

“So be truly glad.[b] There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.1 Peter 1:6-7 (NLT)

Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1:2-4 (NLT)

There you go! Trials + Blessings = triblessings

So , why am I sharing this? Because we are quick to only see the trials. We often put our tent-stakes in the ground and camp on trial-terrain. Yet, God says there is much more to see! He tells us to take out our binoculars and survey the landscape. There are blessings out there!

Let’s face it. Trials are hard. However, they can bring some really good stuff. If we respond to them well, our faith will be refined and strengthened and God will be pleased with our growth.

What we call things matters. If we just call the hard times, trials, then this is likely the only way we will experience them. But, if you are willing to call them “triblessings” you will see things from a more rounded and biblical perspective, and hopefully you will find it easier to praise God in the midst of them.

I have had many “triblessings” in my life, and God has always used them as He promised. My faith has been refined, and I have grown in the Lord. I have blessed His name.

For Jesus,

Rob
